About National Aviation University

The National Aviation University dates its origins back to 1933 with the Kyiv Aviation Institute’s enrolment of students across four faculties: operational, aircraft, engine and ground structures.

In 1934, it became the Voroshilov Kyiv Aviation Institute of Civil Air Fleet. In 2000, by the decree of the President of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma, national university status was awarded, creating the National Aviation University as it is known today.

The university has five institutes, 10 faculties, a military training department, six colleges, two lyceums and a Flight Academy. Students can choose to study at bachelor, master, candidate and doctor of science levels across the 10 faculties: aerospace; air navigation; electronics and communications; architecture; construction and design; environmental safety; engineering and technology; economics and business administration; cybersecurity, computer and software engineering; linguistics and social communications; international relations; transport, management and Logistics; law and military training.

The university has trained students to achieve success as: pilots, unmanned aerial vehicle operators, ground-handling professionals, engineers, air traffic controllers, specialists in cybersecurity and many more.

The National Aviation University has a range of state of the art facilities, including one of Europe’s largest aviation training hangars, a training airfield, aeronautical training ground, and an educational and scientific aerodynamic complex based on the subsonic TAD-2 wind tunnel. As well as educational facilities, there are a range of student campus facilities for students to enjoy: 11 dorms, internet café, bistro, medical centre, culture and arts centre, gym, and a scientific and technical library. Students can also choose to work on and contribute to the Aviator Newspaper, which began in 2018.

Located in Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital city, students can enjoy a range of cultural and historical sites, including St. Sophia’s Cathedral, Independence Square, and the monastery Kiev Pechersk Lavra.
