About Chiba University of Commerce

Chiba University of Commerce was founded in 1928 as a school for accounting and formally became Chiba University of Commerce in 1950. The main campus is located in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, just 30 minutes from Tokyo.

There are five main faculties at the university offering a range of courses from undergraduate to a postgraduate level: commerce and economics, policy informatics, service innovation, humanities and social sciences, and global studies.

The university’s students can access a range of facilities to supplement their learning. The Digital Broadcasting Studio, for example, allows students to record videos and gain experience in production and broadcasting.The University HUB is a space where students can conduct group work and meetings. The HUB also houses a dance studio, computer studio and theatre.

For students wishing to pursue extracurricular activities, there is a gymnasium, tennis court, archery range, swimming pool, playing field, training centre and golf range.

The university is part of the Global Partnership of Asian Colleges which is a group of nine universities from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, China, and Israel. The aim of the partnership is to encourage students to study at partner universities. Subjects that students can study include international finance, international trade and tourism among others.

Graduates of Chiba University of Commerce go on to work in a range of industries, with the most popular being agriculture and forestry, information and communications, and the financial sector according to the university.
