Study in Serbia

Serbia, in the Balkans, is home to a young population, is brimming with bars, cafés and clubs, and offers a unique hybrid of the modern western world and its Ottoman past.

Serbia is often overlooked as a go-to destination, with people opting for its neighbour, Croatia. However the country has plenty to offer -including a fascinating capital city that boasts a rich cultural life.

Being overlooked has its advantages for students, though, as the current lack of visitors has kept prices low. The people are friendly, the food is good, and the nightlife is bustling.

Higher education in Serbia is still developing but there are some popular universities which include: University of Belgrade, State University of Novi Pazar, and University of Arts also in Belgrade.

Cities like Belgrade and Novi Sad have a dynamic arts and music scene, excellent food and a lively café culture, which draws in students. The country's rural areas offer alternative pastimes, with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy like hiking, cycling, rafting and canoeing.

Famous sons and daughters of Serbia include tennis players Novak Djokovic and Ana Ivanovic, and model Jenna Jenovich.
